Poetry has been launched with a daily reading evening in the East Magazine
On the evening of April 14th, a special literary atmosphere of the East Cafe in Budapest was introduced: a reading night introduced the latest literary magazine, East and editorial board. Although the name is merely a coincidence with the venue of the event, the choice was stylish: the east in the east.
The young people who want to make up Dolmány Fanni “Nusi”, Regina Zagoni and Kristóf Szeredás « Szeged » established by East considers the spirit of the legendary West as inspirational, but seeks his own face and sound: the young people and the Crystal of Contemporary East want to break its way the Hungarian literature in the world.
Their story began in the summer of 2022, after a university admission in the Dózsa Brewery, where the common experience of a rejection and the weight of unspoken sentences brought together a small company from which three friends still have a close friendship. A « charming but not special » girl with scary notes, a « Frufrus alter girl » Denveres lighter and a « veteran guy » who decided to make voices to those who had no platform before. By establishing the magazine, this desire was finally embodied.
On their debut evening, the first number of editions printed in the East, which was found, made his debut, from which each piece found. They were properly founded by the classic and contemporary poems at the coffee scent, and then in the Open Mic section anyone could share their favorite or own writings. There were a good number of young, emerging poets on the platform, who had so far only secretly scribbled poems on the booklet pages, and the audience greeted the applause that did not want to depend on every piece.
