« I finish here a course of many years of dedication to the party and the country. » The phrase was said by Pedro Nuno Santos, the day he left the position of party secretary-general, an attitude he decided to take after the bad electoral results in the last legislature.

Still, he assured that he will continue to “do political intervention” but “party life ends”.

Pedro Nuno Santos warned that he has not yet made a decision on the place in the Assembly of the Republic but will do so « in the coming weeks ».

« It seems to me well that the party does not stay long without secretary general, » says the socialist.

The same seems to want PS president Carlos César, who will propose to the National Commission that the elections for Socialist Secretary-General are on June 27 and 28 and Congress after the municipalities.

« Be sure that this reflection is necessary, because the negative consequences are recognized, it is important to be known to the causes, it is also important that the priority is defined with regard to local elections and the replacement of this institutional normality, » Carlos César said at the entrance of the PS National Commission.
