Please bunker: These foods keep almost unlimited
They may not be made for eternity, but for a very long time: some foods last for years and even significantly beyond the best before date (MHD). This is indicated by the NRW consumer center. The right storage is important.
Salt and sugar: Dining salt and sugar can be durated as long as they are stored dry and in closed packaging. Moisture can be clumped – but even then you can still use salt and sugar.
Rice: White rice and wild rice can be kept for several years with dry and airtight storage. Exceptions are some types of rice such as red and black rice, as well as quinoa and amaranth. You can spoil faster due to your higher fat content. If a product is contaminated or clumped, this indicates pests – then away with it.
Flour: Can be used up to one year after the minimum preservation date has expired, provided that it is closed and stored dry. The following also applies here: Please dispose of contaminated or clumped flour.

Noodles: If they consist of 100 percent durum wheat semolina, they are also lasting very long, even beyond the best before date. In contrast, whole grains and eggwit should be eaten according to the MHD within a year.
White wine vinegar and water: Thanks to its high acidity, the vinegar can be kept for several years. Water in glass bottles, cool and dark, can also be drinked indefinitely. In the case of plastic bottles, on the other hand, observe the best -before date because ingredients of the packaging can pass into the water.
Honey: The natural product is almost incredible if you store it cool, dry and dark. Crystallized honey is not a sign of spoilage, but a natural process. The honey becomes liquid again by careful heating.
