PJ owns homeless suspected of trying to kill man on the street in Viana do Castelo

A 35-year-old man who was homeless was arrested by the Judiciary Police on suspicion of being the perpetrator of the attempted murder of a 46-year-old on Friday night in Viana do Castelo.

According to the PJ statement, the serious aggressions followed a disagreement between the suspect and the victim, « on the public road, in the side space of Estação Viana Shopping shopping center, a place usually frequented by people without shelter, who also stay overnight. »

The suspect armed with scissors « advanced on the victim, hitting him several times, particularly in the thoracic and abdominal zone, causing him serious injuries, » the authorities advance.

After the crime, the attacker fled and the victim was able to ask a person who passed by and who in the meantime gave the warning, both for the means of relief and to the police authorities.

The victim was transported to the Viana do Castelo hospital, where, after several surgical interventions, reserved prognosis.

The PJ triggered several steps that allowed the location and detention of the suspect in the escape, who will be present to the judge in the Court of Viana do Castelo, for first judicial interrogation and application of coercion measures.
