PJ holds dangerous inmates when it went out of prison
A 44 -year -old man about to leave prison on parole was arrested on suspicion of committing a series of crimes during a precarious departure in 2023.
“In response to the degree of danger of the suspect, on the verge of being refunded to freedom, the man was arrested while preparing to abandon the prison of Jewish Valley in Alcoentre, in probation, where he served the penalty”, 20 years for crimes of murder, theft, kidnapping, theft and detention of a banned weapon, the PJ said.
Following precarious exit, granted in October 2023, the man did not return to jail and committed several theft and theft crimes in different local, interior and northern region of the country, having used a stolen vehicle in Almeirim and two shotguns subtracted from a rifle in Bragança.
Following a robbery of Lousã's Mini -Press Supermarket on November 9, 2023, the suspect would be detected by a GNR patrol in the Vila Nova de Poiares area.
In realizing it was being followed, it began an escape for about 5 km, which only ceased when the car that drove displeased, crashed into a wall and overturned, eventually immobilized by elements of the GNR patrol and detained by a PJ team that were already on the ground.
At the time, the detainee returned to jail to serve the remaining time of the sentence, and the PJ concluded the investigations and sent inquiry to the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of Coimbra, which came to issue the detention warrant.
It has already been present to the Court for interrogation and application of coercion measures, and the measure of coercion of pre-trial detention was applied.
