Piraeus Mayor Yiannis Moralis welcomed the historic « Olympia » of the Navy of the Navy

THE Mayor of Piraeus Yiannis Moralis Yesterday, yesterday, the only faithful operating copy of the 5th century BC, the Governor of « AVEROF », the Chief of Staff Basil Asimakopoulos and the Lieutenant Commander -in -Chief.

The arrival of the trio, which sailed for the 11th year in Pasalimani, at the height of Alexandra Square, for the celebration of the « Days of the Sea 2025 » events, is one of the top events and this year’s festive program, highlighting its deep naval identity.

At the reception of the trilogy was attended by: Deputy Mayor of Extraversion, European Programs and Tourism Andriana Zarakeli, Volunteer Municipal Councilor Elina Verkakis, on behalf of the Organizing Committee of the Days of the Sea and Panagiotis Kyrimis and Panagiotis Kyrimis.

Also, the Navy band participated in the tribal reception, with favorite melodies of the Greek seafood.

Piraeus Mayor Yiannis Moralis, in his statement, stressed:

« With great pleasure and honor we welcomed the historic three -year -old » Olympia « for the eleventh year, the only operating copy of the Athenian trio of the 5th century BC. Its imposing presence, in the context of the celebration of the 2025 Sea Days, is now an institution for our city, linking our naval past with the present and the future.

« Olympia » is a symbol of our shipping, history and culture. It offers Piraeus, visitors, tourists and especially young people the opportunity to see our ancient naval heritage closely and to feel the power of the sea that shaped the identity of Piraeus.

I would like to thank the Chief of the General Staff of the Navy Vice Admiral Dimitris Qatara, Averoff Basil Asimakopoulos, the Chief Executive Emmanuel Zorba, as well as all those who contributed to our big trilogy.

In the end, Piraeus Mayor Yiannis Moralis and AVEROF Governor Basil Asimakopoulos exchanged commemorative gifts.
