Pinto Luz defends the country’s biggest bet on entrepreneurs

The infrastructure minister defended on Friday that the country should bet on the economy and entrepreneurs. Miguel Pinto Luz pointed to a “best investment” remuneration, with “different regulation”, bureaucracy and “perpetuity of public policies”, to attract more projects.

« This is the view of this government. Betting on the economy, betting on entrepreneurs, remunerating the risk of these entrepreneurs, because they risk and is well paid the risk of entrepreneurs that we invite them to make more investment, » said the ruler.

Speaking of the inauguration of a Data Center in Sines, the minister stressed that one can “pay well the risk of entrepreneurs in many ways”, giving as examples the acceleration of decision -making processes or bureaucracy.

« We have to facilitate and this remunerates the risk of entrepreneurs and remunerates the risk of investors with different regulation, » he said, stressing that « the regulator has to defend the market with equal opportunities and ensure equity. »

Considering that “Europe has had closed regulation, which does not allow scale and large companies”, Pinto Luz alleged, according to Lusa agency, that in the telecommunications sector, there is “a large capital squeeze” and has no capacity for investments that should be made.

« Europe is delayed over the United States in telecommunications infrastructure and is because we have small and medium -sized companies without scale, with no capacity to make the investment we should, » he reiterated, proposing « more fair, more celebrated, more balanced regulation. »

The minister pointed out that the investment of entrepreneurs is also paid if the country can “have projects that exceed political cycles and have the required national consensus and the perpetuity of public policies”.

« We all seek that these investors do not constantly walk with their hand in their hearts to see what will happen next, » he said, insisting that « this is not the way the current government wants to implement. »

Pinto Luz, who was speaking at the inauguration of the first Data Center Campus building in Sines, thanked and praised the current holder of the economy portfolio, Pedro Reis, but also the ministers of the previous PS government João Galamba and António Costa Silva.
