May 27: In the Berchtesgaden National Park, the two 88 -day beard vulture in general and Luisa are released. The birds come from breeding stations in Austria and Switzerland. May 23: A small plane crashed in a residential area in the US west coast city of San Diego. At least two people were killed in Cessna, as a spokesman for the fire brigade announced. May 22nd: In the Schönbrunn Tiergarten in Vienna there is a new resident at the Borneo-Orang-Utans: A nine-year-old male moved in at the Dutch animal park Apenheul in early May. The move took place in coordination with the European conservation breeding program. The newcomer replaces the previous male of the group, which was almost 50 years old and has recently died. With the young orangutan, the existing group is to be preserved in the long term and will also be ensured again in the future. The zoo thus relies on sustainable breeding and the preservation of endangered species. The first steps in the new home went calm – the newcomer is currently getting used to his new environment.
