Photos from Brac shocked the public, the leaves ended up in the sea! Nincevic Lesandric: These are your voices
The day before the election silence and the second round of local elections at Brac in Pucisca, according to the candidate headquarters. Ivana Nincevic Lesandriccitizens on the coast and in the sea noticed scattered ballots. The footage of floating leaves quickly expanded among the locals and on social networks, and everything was immediately reported to the State Election Commission.
– I am deeply concerned about the news and scenes of scattered ballots that were seen on the ground this morning and in the sea in Pucisca on Brac. This serious disturbance of citizens’ confidence in the election process and democratic standards. On the photos you look at are not ordinary papers – these are your voices, your right to choose who will manage the county for the next four years. Someone is trying to take that right to you – Nincevic Lesandric said.
The case was reported by the headquarters of Ivana Ninčević Lesandrić, who competed in the second round of local elections against HDZ Mayor Blaženko Boban in Split-Dalmatia County.
– Citizens have the right to know if all the ballots are safe, whether they are protected and whether something can be repeated like this. That is why I am looking for an urgent reaction to the State Election Commission, clearly determining the responsibility and notification of the public about the measures taken. On Sunday, we choose what our county will look like for the next four years – and it must be a choice that is honest, clean and lawful – she concluded.
