Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was among numerous guests in Moscow at the great celebration of the 80th anniversary of victory over Nazism, an event that brought together the leaders of various countries of the world. In addition to other delegation chiefs, Vucic attended a concert and a solemn evening on behalf of President Russia, at which Vladimir Putin gave a programmatic speech to the gathered.
Putin pointed out in the speech that the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazism was « a historical truth that no one can cover up, defile or take away », adding that the peoples of the Antihitler coalition have won freedom with joint efforts.
– Our fathers, grandparents have gone into a deadly struggle for the right to decide on their own fate on their own – said Putin, recalling the contribution of allies from Europe, the US, Asia, Africa and Latin America.
The celebration, he said, brought together representatives of states of different political systems, religions and civilizations, but that diversity, Putin claims, « does not share, but makes us stronger. » He called to strengthen the role of the United Nations and respect for international law, recalling that these topics were at the center of the summit in Kazan last year.
– We are advocating for justice, equality and agreement. Only such approaches can provide long -term peace and prosperity – emphasized the Russian president.
Vucic boasted from Moscow that he had talked to the leaders of the countries with whom he did not have the opportunity to see himself often, so he met with Robert Fic. He said that after the parade, meetings with Xi Jinping were waiting for him.
