Photo: Pope Francis spent four days in Slovakia
The Pope visited Slovakia in 2021.
Was Sunday, September 12, 2021 in the afternoon when at the airport in Bratislava landed the plane with Pope Francis. The fourth official visit to the head of the Catholic Church in Slovakia started, and John Paul II came here three times.
The Pope in Slovakia stayed four days. On the first day he was welcomed by the then President at that time Zuzana Čaputová.
During his visit, he was accepted by the President at the Presidential Palace, met with representatives of the state, bishops, priests, also with the Jewish community.
On the third day he flew to Košice, where he visited the Roma community in the Luník IX housing estate and met with young people at the Lokomotiva Stadium in Košice.
On Sunday, September 15, he served Mass during the National Pilgrimage in Šaštín.
