Economic Calvary has turned the car for thousands of IX owners, who have seen the cost of repairing their vehicles in recent years.

It is particularly noteworthy that since the period of pandemic, but also after the war in Ukraine, service prices in cars, both in the new and used ones, have almost doubled.

Most of the raising prices in IX service is due to the prices of car spare parts, which have steadily pulling up the uphill for more than three years.

Now, car owners need almost a salary a year for a scheduled visit to the delegation workshop or even unauthorized workshops, which also offer familiar alternatives with second placement spare parts at lower prices.

Costs in car service differs depending on the model, whether the owners choose the small or the big service – where the second is usually the most expensive.

In the brands with the most affordable models the cost of average repair ranges from 150 to 250 euros, while in the largest models, predetermined maintenance can reach up to 700-900 euros.

The first service that the delegations usually set at 15,000 kilometers – or in a year – in a small model costs from 150 to 250 euros. The big service that has most work can reach all 500-600 euros.

Indicatively, in a small -medium -sized family model of Japanese, the first service of 15,000 kilometers (for the change of oils, oil filter and brake liquid) the cost is set by the dealership at 155 euros.

Prices go up to the categories of SUVs where even for simple tasks the cost causes … headaches to their owners.

It is noteworthy that in a medium German SUV only the cost of changing the pads and the front wheels reaches 400 euros, and, if needed to replace the rear wheels, then the costs are launched at 700 euros!

But even the simplest tasks now have a high price.

In a small German city model, the cost of changing the liquid brakes reaches 51 euros, while in the same model a simple replacement on front wheel pads reaches 155 euros.

Clearly, high maintenance cost prices have forced several IX owners to … go through their visit to the car workshop.

Cause, the financial difficulty that often puts the repair of key mechanical parts that are directly related to the car safety of the car, such as the tires, the brake system and the shock absorbers.

Unattended cars are a frequent customer of the KTEOs, as private KTEO managers have recorded in recent years, who find that Greek owners have been divorced with their consistent maintenance.

According to KTEO President Konstantinos Vikas: « Today about 2.9 million vehicles from the nine million have not passed KTEO.

Although the cost of the KTEO is not high, it is about 55 euros for IX, we can say that the abstinence of drivers from KTEOs is obviously linked to the case of avoiding the necessary repairs to vehicles.

So with the abstinence from KTEOs, almost 30% of Greek owners IX ignore the maintenance of their IX. «
