Pharmacists, national mobilization (with strikes) starts: « inadequate contract »
Federfarma’s rigid position was determined to break the comparison, which confirmed the offer of only 120 euros of overall wage increase for the next three years
After negotiations without opportunities, discontent explodes in private pharmacies. Filcams Cgil, Fisascat Cisl and Uiltucs have announced the start of a national mobilization of the workers of the sectorfollowing the definitive breakdown of negotiations for the renewal of the national collective labor contract (CCNL). At the base of the clash, the position considered adamant of Federfarma, who – according to the unions – confirmed a wage proposal deemed « inadequate »: Only 120 euros for a total increase for the next three years.
The loss of purchasing power
A figure that organizations consider not only insufficient, but also disconnected from the economic reality of the sector and by the needs of those who work every day on the front line by offering an essential public service. An offer that completely ignores the loss of purchasing power recorded in recent years and the trend of inflation have accused the unions, which for months have been asking for increases linked to certain economic indicators, in line with what has already been obtained in other sectors.
Cooling procedure
The fracture took place after yet another empty meeting and led, on 4 June, to the activation of the cooling procedure provided for by current legislation – first step towards a mobilization that is announced wide, widespread and intended to be felt nationally.
The trade union actions plan provides: territorial and regional assemblies aimed at all workers and workers of private pharmacies, presidia and public initiatives in front of the Federfarma offices, the prefectures and local administrations, the call of a large national category assembly, a package of strikes – which will be scheduled in compliance with law 146/90 – and finally a unitary communication campaign, also on social media, to inform and involve public opinion.
Without a change of pace by the employer counterpart, the dispute is destined to get to the heart. « The mobilization – declare the unions – is today the only effective tool for obtaining a dignified contract, » in the absence of a change of course by the employer – conclude the unions -. For this reason, the active involvement of all territorial structures and the maximum support from workers and workers in the sector will be fundamental ».
