Petition of raising salaries by educators gained 25,000 votes: what the authors require

The petition demanding to raise the salary of kindergartens has gained the number of votes required for consideration.

Needed 25,000 signatures she gathered within 58 days after publication on Site Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The author of the appeal Anastasia Gaidai notes that as of 2025 the salary of the tutor is 7 thousand hryvnias – this is not enough to ensure a normal standard of living.

”It is a salary of a person who is responsible for the safety, development and upbringing of children daily. For these funds, it is impossible to provide even basic needs – payment for utilities, food, medical expenses, not to mention the education of your own children or the possibility of rest« , – the address reads.

The text of the petition states that due to low wages, caregivers are massively exempted. Due to the shortage of personnel, the burden on those who remained in the profession are increasing, but the salary remains the same as it was before.

The author of the appeal requires:

• to increase the salary for caregivers to 15,000 thousand per month;

• increase the funding of pre -school education and review the tariff grid to equate the remuneration of caregivers to the level of school teachers;

• to introduce the mechanism of annual indexing of salaries according to the growth of the subsistence minimum and the level of inflation;

• Provide social guarantees, including mandatory payments for years of service, a surcharge for the prestige of work of at least 30% of the salary, compulsory annual premiums for the day of preschool worker and financial assistance for recovery.

Now the proposals from the petition should consider the Cabinet of Ministers.
