The accusations that Turkey aim at Swedish journalist Joakim Medin are difficult to take seriously, if it were not because the consequences of them are already serious.

The Turkish head of state is certainly Europe’s perhaps most easily offended, notorious for its grumpy mood and authoritarian whims. But on the basis of basic human rights, it is only possible to consider the act in one way: as unacceptable and ominous.
