A person was murdered in a De Lijn bus on the Left Bank on Monday. The victim was cut the throat. Two other people were injured. « The suspect was arrested, we are going out of a random attack, » says police spokesman Kim Bastiaens.
The facts took place in bus 36 near the Ernest Claesstraat and the Louis Paul Boonstraat on the Left Bank. The police are on site for investigation.
« A knife attack took place on a bus at the Ernest Claesstraat at 2.30 pm, » confirms police spokesman Kim Bastiaens. « In addition, a person died. Two other people were taken to the Cadix Hospital with injuries. The suspect was arrested on the bus. The judicial lab will be on site and the investigation will be conducted. »
« The two wounded are the bus driver, who is in shock, and a passenger who wanted to intervene. The victim is an older man. The police currently assume a random knife attack. »
In the meantime, the judicial lab has arrived on the left bank for trace investigation. The police have closed the site with black sails for bystanders.
