Per Morberg leaves the TV4 success: « There is a limit »

The premiere episode became a viewing success, according to TV4. But the recording for « Mauri and Morberg – on a small trip » eventually became too much for actor Per Morberg, who chose to leave the production in the middle of a trip to Argentina.

– It was such a pressed schedule. So little sleep and so much work. It did not go together. You can’t fly 20 hours and so sleep 5 and work 16. I’m not 25 anymore, says Per Morberg over the phone, while noticing oaks in the forest.

It had been one Intensive journey, with drag show, pigeon hunting and riding. After a long flight, Morberg would then cook pepper steak in a kitchen with inadequate equipment. When Mauri Hermundsson wanted to talk about masculinity after dinner, Morberg could no longer cope.

Is it an inherent problem with the entire program concept, which is based on the fact that it should scrape between you and Mauri?

– It works because we love each other so much. It’s just that we have a little different grip. But we are so fond of each other. It is important to remember it. We call and talk. It is a wise and interesting and energetic guy. But it was a little high tempo, says Morberg.

After Morberg leaves The program jumps Mikael Persbrandt and Carola Häggkvist into Morberg’s place in the upcoming sections.

It seems timely that Persbrandt and Carola lined up. Is this staged in any way?

– No, it’s not. It got a little too heavy. At least as I knew then. Then I might have been able to bite and just made it clear. But right then I felt it was the third trip and it had been so intense.

Morberg says he was back on the track almost a week later.

– It wasn’t that I broke down. It was just that I felt what the hell should I force myself to? There is a limit when you have some kind of self -insight.

Morberg still gives one Some ambiguous answer to the question of whether he would return for another season.

– You should never say never. We say in the chorus that « no we can’t cope », but of course we do.

TT has applied for Mauri Hermundsson as Per SMS replies that he is overworked and cannot give any interview. In a written comment, he describes the departure as a result of « collaboration difficulties » between him and Morberg.
