As observed by LETA, social media users have noticed a disturbance on the CVK website at the start of the municipal election voting procedure, which does not allow you to see the current issues of the vote counting process.

The LETA agency observed that the CVK website regularly faces problems, and data is reflected in incorrectly – the website shows the wrong number of polling stations.

The CEC receives criticism of the organization of the electoral process throughout this week and the shortcomings found therein.

As reported, in the event of a local election, more and more observers are criticized for the performance of the election organizer and provider – CEC and the National Digital Development Agency (VDAA).

LETA has already announced that in these municipal elections, taking into account those citizens who voted in the previous voting, voter activity has reached 47.01% of the voters with the right to vote, according to the latest data compiled by the Central Election Commission (CEC), which is not yet for all districts.

Including 30.89% of voters from 8am to 8pm on Saturday.

The biggest activity was in Riga, where 52.34% of the voters voted.

The capital is followed by Vidzeme, where a total of 48.09% of voters voted, Zemgale with 43.56%, Kurzeme with 42.28% and Latgale, where 41.25% of the voters have voted.

In the five previous voting days, 16.11% of the voting population voted in the Latvian municipal elections.

It has already been reported that in the previous municipal elections, which took place in June 2021, the elections were not in Riga, where the council was elected elections a year earlier, as well as in Rezekne County and Varaklani County, where the elections were suspended by judgment of the Constitutional Court and later – in September 2021. Currently, Varaklani County is included in Madona County and is respectively in the Vidzeme constituency, while it was previously in the Latgale constituency.

In total, 1,377,183 Latvian residents were eligible for these municipal elections.

Citizens could vote this year in a total of 948 districts throughout Latvia.

The elections could vote from 8am to 8pm on Saturday.

This year, unlike the municipal elections of previous years, it was possible to vote in any municipal district.
