Pendarovski: The positioning of our new government is worried about the Trump administration
Former President Stevo Pendarovski said tonight he was concerned about the government's positioning on the new US administration.
– It is very important that we as a small country, you know which region we are located, we set ourselves against those global changes. Trump has disrupted the global balance, disrupted the internally transatlantic community because it introduced customs duties and launched offensive action against its biggest allies and neighbors, but what is particularly concerned about is our new government's positioning on Trump's administration. The sentence said by our Prime Minister Mickoski after returning from America that we should get used to this new normal and that it will normally flood the world is a dangerous thesis. Neither America, Canada, Mexico, Britain have been flooded with the new normal, …
– We, as a small state, have to think twice before standing first and saying others to line up. I wouldn't run because we are not a world -wide superpower, anyone who led the Macedonian state, president, prime minister, must know that we are a small country, among the smallest in the Balkans and that it does not look like, we have no resources, we do not have the interests of being the first to be the first to the US state and say we are together to the strongest. If the biggest of the G7, Japan, if they were not ordered side by side with Trump after the election, but we are scorching, I can't see why this is running. I'm not saying, he says, that we should not hang out with Americans or seek support from Americans, I just say we have two parts in the Euro -Atlantic Alliance, we are members of NATO, but we also want to be a member of the EU. – I do not bind this to formal membership, and then the strategic priority was complete Euro -Atlantic integration. Now for the first time in history, the two Ghlavio is on both sides of the Atlantic to separate, we will see if it will go, it is possible, but we as a small state must not be for one against the other because tomorrow the big ones will agree in some way, they will be overwhelmed- Pendarovski said.
He added that « a state with 1.8 million people cannot be a coospator of the UN Barabar Resolution with America. » « Not to mention that North Korea and Belarus were on the other side, but we are not the place on the big field where the big ones are competing, we need to be very careful, » Pendarovski said, criticizing the government's positioning towards Hungary.
Referring to European integration, he said that « from the communication he has on a daily basis with several important ambassadors in Skopje, some of them have claimed that the prime minister or the foreign minister assures them that the next few months, three four, the new administration will be sufficient to solve the problem with Bulgaria ».
We should, he said, to see what we can offer to such Trump in terms of Bulgaria – nothing, practically nothing.
– In the transactional president we have very little to offer – I'm talking about money and resources. Bulgaria has a far better strategic position than us – he says.
Asked if he would support if VMRO-DPMNE earns any guarantees or delayed action said that « he is looking forward to a majority or complete consensus in the EU and say okay is changing the constitution now, and will be valid after a few years, » but there is no such thing.
In assessing the work of the Government, he assessed, among other things, that the fight against crime and corruption is being slow and has no appropriate results, noting that « he does not know if the government wants to submit all prosecutors to its extent. »
-It is not a democratic prime minister to say that we will now hit the righteousness in the head or dissolve the Judicial Council, etc.-said Pendarovski, adding that unlike the previous VMRO-DPMNE government, which according to him had an economic concept, the current government of VMRO-DPMNE is going to be related to the Hungarian loan.
He said there were no frequent meetings with the new SDSM leadership but told them that this SDSM -led coalition would have its support while representing a democratic state against, as he said, these crucial policies of the new government in the past eight months.
His and SDSM election defeat is due to the campaign between two nationalisms between DUI leaders and VMRO-DPMNE Ali Ahmeti and Hristijan Mickoski, but that the main reason is structural weaknesses and lack of capacity, especially in the second half of seven years, French proposal, SPO's collapse,…
