Penava: Since March 1, kindergartens in Vukovar Free for all children
Penava recalled that the decision on free kindergartens was made by the Vukovar City Council and the last session at the initiative from the ruling Homeland Movement, saying that he was proud of the decision because it means investing in the future of Vukovar.
« This measure for the benefit is the most young fellow citizens to encourage parenting and family based. This is the basis of our society and in that direction we have to continue, » he said.
Penava pointed out that Vukovar records an increased number of children in kindergartens every year, and that is why two facilities on Mitnica and Sajmište are expanded, and a new kindergarten on Olajnica with 14 educational groups with a capacity of 248 children will be built.
« We want to keep the young people, but also to attract new residents that are more and more, » he added.
The City Head of Education, Darko Dimico, recalled that prices in Vukovar city kindergartens were so far – for the first child 70, and for the second 52.5 euros, while the stay for the third child in kindergarten was free of charge.
He stated that the City was investing in kindergarten equipping and last year in the kindergarten in the county street was placed in the value of 44,000 euros, and at the end of the preparation for the new tender of the Ministry of Demography and immigrants, through which they plan to provide 55,000 euros in Vukovar for rehabilitation of existing and procurement new playing for kindergarten in Borovo settlement.
“The City of Vukovar, as the founder of kindergarten and elementary schools, always thinks primarily about children, about the quality of education. We are not only referring to children but also of employees who, upon the entry into force of the new Regulation of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, raised our salaries, « Dimic said.
