Peace linden from 1648 has fallen over
In the heart of Schönschach, a mighty tree has survived for centuries: the Peace Lords. But this memorial for peace no longer exists. The mighty tree has broken off.
The Peace Lord had its place near the St. Wolfgang chapel from the 16th century. The Jäckle-Bauer had the tree in 1648 On the occasion of the Westphalian peace planted. The Westphalian peace ended The thirty -year -old KrieG. The linden tree in Schönschach, a district of Bad Wörishofenreminded since then.
The new linden tree not far from the historical tree was apparently spared
It was initially not known why the tree broke off or fallen. Michael Scharpf, the chairman of the Bad Wörishofen beautification association, then learned that there was apparently violent wind gusts in the somewhat higher Schönschach on Saturday at around 10 p.m. This was not noticeable in the core city of Bad Wörishofen.
« The linden tree didn’t have much to oppose this if you look at the rather rotten trunk, » said Scharpf. « Fortunately, the tree, which was planted as a replacement by Ruth Detmar, seems to have hardly got anything in the time of Ruth Detmar, » reports Scharpf. At that time, Detmar was the chairman of the club, Scharpf estimates that the new linden tree was planted about 25 years ago, right next to the historically important tree.

« At the time, our club planted the tree wisely because it was foreseeable that the once so proud, wonderful old linden tree would no longer stop, » said Scharpf. « We also set up a wooden table at the time, in memory of the end of the Thirty Years’ War. »
The beautification association now wants to commemorate the peace linden
The beautification association now plans to set up an information stele on the history of the Peace Leaf, including the historical photo in consultation with the city. « I have some very nice views of the old splendor in my inventory that are suitable for the board, » reports Scharpf, who has now compiled a large science of Bad Wörishofen as a hobby historian.
