Pavlicek needs Serbs for power in Vukovar, and calls the HDZ who refuses him: ‘We have a plan A, B and C’
Sovereign Marijan In a difficult battle, Pavlicek managed to become the mayor of Vukovar and thus removed the homeland movement from power, which went with the HDZ to this election. But Pavliček and his deputy Filip Sušac do not have a majority in the City Council and there will be difficult negotiations. Of the 19 councilors, sovereign and domino have six, and they need 10 for most of them. They have SDSS and DDS, representatives of the Serb national minority in Vukovar, and Pavlicek wants to avoid the coalition with them. Therefore, he invited the HDZ on election night, who has three councilors and the HNS who has one councilor to support him. But the majority in the County Assembly does not have the HDZ County County Mayor Ivan Bosancic, but it could reach the sovereign support.
– Pavlicek is now calling, but this campaign was dirty and it will be difficult to go over everything. This would also mean turning my back to the Homeland Movement, which is a national coalition partner to us. It will still be talked about this week, and there is no doubt that due to its complexity, it will be discussed at the highest level, between Plenkovic and Penava – a local HDZ man tells us.
But of all involved in these elections, we received a confirmation that Pavlicek took a close victory with 184 votes of difference with the voices of local Serbs on the principle of « my enemy’s enemy is my friend. » Because Ivan Penava and the Homeland Movement at the national level led a campaign against the SDSS and the Serb minority. And they didn’t forget that. An additional complication is that the two Serbian parties are not in political love. Srdjan Kolar from the SDSS was also elected Deputy Mayor from the ranks of national minorities.
-We heard that the newly elected Mayor Pavliček had already called for the cooperation of the HDZ and the HNS, and we were not, which was realistic to expect. We will see what will happen in the next few days, so we will take an attitude as a party accordingly. For now, we have not yet had a discussion on the bodies of the party. Whatever the option prevails, we just want to be good for the city of Vukovar and all its citizens, which means the construction of good interpersonal and inter -ethnic relations, securing peaceful and safe streets, construction of trust, because no one wants Vukovar to be the city – says Kolar.
He also said that, as a minority, they were more important for them in the first round, and for the second round they advised their voters to give the voice to the candidate they prefer …
It is important to the sovereign ones that they received the mayor, and they are mysterious about how to compile a majority if they are rejected by the HDZ and representatives of the Serb minority.
– We count on all options, we have a plan A, but also Plan B and C, and in the next days everything will be seen – the interlocutor from that party tells us.
By the way, Pavliček told us earlier that he would no longer take aid of 70 euros from the city budget to pay the overhead they receive because he and his wife have three children.
