Patients with hematological malignants Necessary new drugs – society


On the occasion of the World Conducting Hematological Malignant, coalitions of patients with hematological malignant pointed out the burning problems of patients with the desire to be patient’s life, fighting for better availability of diagnostic methods and therapy.

This coalition consists of Maja Markovic, president of the Association of Patients of Lymphoma and Chronic Lymphocyte Doder, President of the Patients’ Multiple Mieloma and Predrag Slijepčević, President of the patient patients with acute leukemia « Leuka ».

Year by year, through activities and campaigns in cooperation with the profession, three associations that make up the patients and caregivers, which face physical, psychosocial, emotional and financial effects caused by the diagnosis, treatment, quality of care, lack of modern therapies.

« About 30 percent of patients have a high-risk disease and these patients are needed by a total of 15 innovative drugs, for 33 indications, there was only two drugs in Serbia. There were eight drugs on hold in total, for some fifteen Indication. What we still don’t know is when there will be any hematologically malignant from multiple myeloma with a note that a good chance for patients suffered from multiple men’s participation in clinical studies, which are not available again in clinical studies.

Discovering and starting treatment in the earlier phase of the disease prevents serious health complications or progressing of diseases, and therefore the chances of curing are higher. However, if adequate therapy is not included, the disease can be finished lethal.

« Innovative therapies are really changing the disease. Areas such as innovative drugs, only four drugs have entered a positive list, » Maja Markovic, « Lipa » patients’ lymphocyte.

Predrag Slijepčević, president of the Association of patients with acute leukemia « Leuka, pointed out the importance of psychological support to patients suffering from malignant diseases, but also their families.

« Our clinics do not have a psychologist who have a psychologist who is not enough. In our associations, we are very lucky to plant white, and so we can help these people, » Slijepcevic emphasized.
