Passengers of chain carousel bounce against lamppost
Due to a presumably technical defect in a chain carousel in the Bavarian Stadt Bayreuth, there is a painful incident for a number of passengers. Five people are injured.
According to the police, at least five people were injured in an accident with a chain carousel at the Bayreuth spring festival. Three of them had suffered moderate, two minor injuries, said a police spokesman. There were four minors and an adult among those affected. The police had previously spoken of six injuries.
Accordingly, the ride was occupied with several people early Monday evening. The gondolas would have turned too quickly when lowering. Due to the larger radius, they then crashed into several surrounding rods of lamps and advertising displays. According to initial knowledge, a technical defect ensured that the gondolas had not slowed down their speed.
Red cross set up the care center
A number of rescue workers were at the scene of the accident at Volksfestplatz, it continued. The spring festival continued after the accident. Only the area around the chain carousel was cordoned off. The Red Cross set up a childcare center for possible further injuries. Witnesses are asked to report to the police. An expert was consulted for the investigation.
