Parliament began its 43rd session, interrupted by Krmov due to a declaration of recognition of the Palestinian state submitted by Levica
Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi 43. The plenary session began greetings to members of the Roma community on the occasion of April 8 – International Roma Day. When Gashi urged the nominees to explain the justification the Draft Law on Amending the Law on Construction Land to be adopted in a shortened procedure, Levica MP Borislav Krmov requested to address procedurally.
Krmov noted that the Declaration of Recognition of the State of Palestine submitted by Levica for five months remains stalled in the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.
– My procedural address is under Article 126 paragraph 3 which says « If the President of the Working Body does not convene a session when he is obliged to do so or if the working body does not have the president, the session is convened by the President of the Assembly and the session chaired by a member of the working body to be determined by the President of the Assembly until the end of the session ». Namely, Levica has submitted a Declaration on the recognition of the State of Palestine since November 8, these are five months. Unfortunately, we allegedly unveiled the processes in the Assembly with the process Jean Monet. So, for five months, that declaration remains stalled in the Foreign Policy and Foreign Policy Committee, which is led by colleague Musa Xhaferi. I would like to ask first and basically the Rules of Procedure and secondly we colleagues and do you particularly have the presidents in this Assembly in general? The other day we watched a video where after an explosion 50 meters in the air, the bodies of men, women and children were flying. And we in the Assembly cannot open any of the most common debate. Not to vote, but the most common debate cannot be opened. And for the irony to be greater, the voting body of the two parties or coalitions that stall the Levica declaration, in fact on the VLL and the European front, your voting bodies are the biggest supporters of Palestinian and the Palestinian people – he said.
The Left MP called for an ad-hoc coordination to discuss the issue and demanded an hour’s break.
-I am once again referring to the conscience of the Assembly, and especially to your conscience, I urge to have an ad-hoc coordination where we will discuss this process urgently and finally in this Assembly to talk about the genocide in the Gaza Strip that is happening to us. Therefore, under Article 87 paragraph 2 I seek an one hour break – said Krmov.
At the 43rd session there are a total of 28 items on the agenda and most of the laws are first reading and the need to adopt a shortened procedure.
