It may sound innocent, but the sentence also testifies that there is not necessarily room for humanity and that fines are business.
As the number of fines and fees rise, the anger of citizens grows, and it often goes beyond those in yellow vests.
The anonymous source tells of everything from verbal to physical assaults, including kicks, threats and home visits.
A guard even had to activate his panic alarm when an angry car owner demanded 30,000 kroner and threatened with ‘visits’ from friends.
Different from company to company
It is not only angry drivers that make the job challenging.
According to the parking attendant, some companies in the industry operate in a gray zone of legislation and morals. Here you do not get fixed salary, but commission.
The more fines, the fatter wages.
However, the trade organization SvePark is trying to clean up the industry in Sweden and requires, among other things, uniforms, decent cars and no commission wages.
The anonymous man explains that as a P-guard one must be understanding of those you encounter:
« You have to have a big heart and be understanding of people. If someone comes with a child under my arm and is a little delayed, I usually tear the fine, » he says.
