Parket wants Brussels YouTuber for years in jail after ‘pranks’ with droppings and eggs (Brussels)

The Brussels public prosecutor demands an effective prison sentence of 42 months against the Brussels YouTuber ‘Yanike’ that had put several videos online showing how he had emptied buckets with excrement about SCB passengers. « I didn’t know that I could get into trouble, » he said on his trial.
At the end of 2023, videos appeared on the YouTube channel of the defendant in which the ‘pranks’ of the man could be seen. For example, he posted a video showing how to see a bucket of two unsuspecting passengers on a MIVB metro set. Another part of the videos showed how the contents of that bucket were composed of oil, beer, dry leaves and dog drops. In total there was about seven films at the time.

The Brussels public transport company STIB filed a complaint, after which the young man was arrested in January 2024. He was quickly released under conditions, but then posted a new video showing how he poured out a bucket of slurry on some people. The man also used his recovered freedom to make videos showing how he pelted people with eggs in a park in Brussels.

« Those videos on the metro were not new facts, » « Yanike » defended himself. « I had already recorded it before my arrest and put it online afterwards. I did not think carefully. It is true that I then pelted people with eggs, but I never thought someone was going to submit a complaint. »
The prosecutor demands an effective 30 -month prison sentence against the YouTuber for the ‘pranks’ with the buckets in metro sets and 1 year in prison for the egg throwing and facts of armed rebellion. « He does not realize what he did, » said the substitute procuror of the Brussels public prosecutor’s office. « One of his victims was a homeless person who was sleeping on the street. There is nothing funny about it. With the facts on the metro, a girl of barely 9 years old got a bucket of slurry over her. »
Order to remove YouTube channel
The public prosecutor’s office also takes heavily due to the fact that the defendant refused the order of the investigating judge to remove his YouTube channel. « I didn’t know that I could fly in jail again, » said the defendant.

‘Yanike’ lawyer argued for a milder punishment. « More than 40 months in jail, that has no effect in the long term. My client benefits more from follow -up and guidance, » it sounded. « He plans to follow a course. »
The verdict will follow within a few weeks.
