Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League trophy for the first time

Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions Football Trophy for the first time, after removing Inter Milan with a score of 5-0 (2-0), in the final held on Saturday night, on Allianz Arena in Munich.

PSG made a perfect match, arbitrated without problems by the Romanian Istvan Kovacs, and was imposed by the goals scored by Achraf Hakimi (12), Desire two (20, 63), Hvicea Kvarațhelia (73) and Senny Mayulu (87).

For Parisians it was the second final played in the Champions League, after the 2020, in Lisbon, in which it was defeated by Bayern Munich.

The team coached by Luis Enrique also set a record, 5-0 being the biggest difference registered in the final of the most important interclub competition on the continent. Differences of four goals were recorded several times in the CCE/Champions League: Real Madrid-Eintracht Frankfurt 7-3, in 1960, Bayern Munich-Atletico Madrid 4-0 in 1974 (rejuvenation), AC Milan-Steaua București 4-0 in 1989, AC Milan-FC Barcelona 4-0 in 1994.

After ten minutes quieter, PSG pressed on the acceleration and the goal opportunities began to appear. Sommer noticed at the kicks on the edge of the box sent by two (10) and Dembele (11).

In contrast, the young Mayulu, just entered, scored with an angle shot (87), after an assist of Barcola, confiring a historical victory of PSG.

Inter Milan remains with three trophies in the most important competition (1964, 1965, 2010), but also with four other finals (1967, 1972, 2023, 2025).

It was the second final of France and Italy’s representatives, after 1993, when Olympique Marseille defeated AC Milan with 1-0, Olympiastadion in Munich. That was the first trophy obtained in the CCE/Champions League of a team from Hexagon, and PSG won the second.
