Pamper: Macedonia delivers the best reform agenda in the Western Balkans
Macedonia delivers the best reform agenda in the Western Balkans, Austrian Ambassador Martin Pamer said today at a conference of the Academy for European Integration, titled « The Road to Macedonia to the EU: Challenges and Opportunities ».
According to the ambassador, citizens should be optimistic, because, as he said, « the government is working on European integration and Macedonia is already heading to the Union, the screening process is underway, next to hold the second intergovernmental conference, which would begin the negotiation process. » Pamer added that he expects constitutional changes to be implemented in good faith.
– Macedonia was the first country in the Western Balkans to deliver the Reform Agenda for the Western Balkans Growth Plan and that was actually the best plan. It is a comprehensive well -developed, which no country in the region has so far managed to do so – said Pamer.
Deputy Minister of European Affairs Viktoria Trajkov stressed at the conference that the reform agenda was actively working, but that we were already tired of promises and conditions.
« The Macedonian government is ready to invest all human and institutional potential to become part of the European family, but that we are already tired of promises and conditions through which it is not passed, » Trajkov said, adding that the funds we receive from the European Union for the reforms implemented are evidence that it is committed and successfully working.
