Palanga received double waves of holidaymakers

Latvians spread through Palanga. Some say they arrive for a short while, some will remain at Easter.

« Palanga is very beautiful, very much. We were walking yesterday evening, now again.

« Sweet – such a city in Latvia. We arrived for two days, » the Latvian said.

« How do you come to us to Liepaja to go to Liepaja by the sea, so we are with you. Even the kids from England came here too, » Latvian said.

But tourism specialists note that most Lithuanians gather.

« There is also from abroad, mainly neighboring countries, but the main flow is our Lithuanian citizens, » explained Rasa Kmitienė, head of the Tourism and Information Center.

Some Lithuanians came to the resort for a short while, to lure the sun.

« We came to see Palanga as dressed, » she explained.

« We brought our little one to show the sea for the first time, » another woman said.

« We love Palanga very much, children are very fond of. We often visit when the weather is beautiful, we come here. Tomorrow, Easter is our family celebration.

Others rest in the resort and the eggs promise to roll here.

Journalists met a man who would meet Easter at the hotel.

« And where to meet Easter more? Hotel, restaurant and sea. It is enough, » the man said.

« We live in Latvia and every year we go to meet my brother at Easter, and we are here all the time, » she said.

The vast majority of Palanga hotels are filled.

« No one remembers such a summer Easter when there is 25 degrees Celsius and more. Summer comes to us at Easter, Palanga is full of people and our hotel will be full, » said Christopher Šliogeris, head of Palanga Seagull.

« According to inquiries at the Tourism Center, we have been living in the Easter mood for about two weeks, and we are very happy, » said the head of the Tourism and Information Center.

Entrepreneurs say they have received double waves of resorts, as now several days off during the holidays, and there will be a children’s vacation after Easter.

« From Saturday, we have been employing at least ten new employees, choosing a seasonal team, because since then the real season begins. Because the other week will be full, the children’s vacation, the hotel will be full – we are working on a full track, » explained Slioger.

Tourism experts say that not only the warm weather, but also the ancient eggs and the abundance of events are attracted to Palanga.

« Museums have many educational programs – for example, how to print eggs, how to get to know Easter traditions. Cafes and restaurants have also prepared special offers, » said the head of the Tourism and Information Center.

Entrepreneurs say that many also use the fact that prices at the resort are still friendly.

« Prices are still winter. Room rent starts at 50 euros per double room, certainly not much on the seafront.

The same stay at the hotel as it will now cost two and a half times more expensive in the summer.
