Pakistan accuses India of a deadly attack in Bellujistan

The Pakistani army today accused India of attacking in the southwestern region of Bellujistan, which killed seven soldiers.

The statement said the attackers were members of the Beljistan Liberation Army (Bla), which the army claimed to be « Indian intermediaries ». They set up an improvised explosive device and hit the military car.

Bla is the strongest among the numerous rebel groups active in Belujistan – a mineral -rich region, with significant Chinese investments.

The tension between India and Pakistan is intensified after an attack in Indian Kashmir on April 22, which killed 26 people, mainly Hindu tourists. India has accused Pakistan of involvement, which Islamabad denies.

Pakistan recently conducted two missile rehearsals, and India has announced civilian protection exercises in several federal states.

India Prime Minister Narendra Modi confirmed today that Indian waters will be used exclusively in India’s interest and will no longer flow out of the country. The statement is considered an indirect message to Pakistan after the Modi government said it would suspend the application of the agreement on the Waters of the Indus over the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Indian Agency reported.

– Formerly the waters that rightly belong to India went out of the country. Now they will flow and stay in the interest of our country, Modi said at a forum in New Delhi.

He did not directly mention Pakistan, nor the escalation of tensions between the two countries following the April 22 attack in the Pahalgam tourist city of Indian Kashmir, which killed 26 civilians, mainly tourists. Delhi accused Islamabad for the attack, though no one claimed responsibility, and Pakistan has categorically denied the allegations.

The 1960 agreement between India and Pakistan to share the waters of the Indus was one of the few long -term mechanisms of cooperation between the two nuclear forces. The attack in Pahalgam has been the deadliest on civilians in the Indian part of Kashmir in the last two decades.
