Owner finds new car badly damaged on parking lane: « Very degoutant, and nobody helps » (Wemmel)

You just have to experience it: you come outside and your new car, a Kia with barely 6,000 kilometers on the clock has been reduced to debris. It happened to Yf from Wemmel, who is now looking for witnesses via social media.
« Last Tuesday around 5.45 pm I parked my car on the Brusselsesteenweg, just before the entrance of the Carrefour Market parking on the opposite side of the pond, » says YF on social media. « The next morning around 6.45 am I found it very badly damaged: a wheel was torn off, the starter and driver’s side is damaged, everywhere debris is clearly involved and the driver has fled. The police did have a determination, but apparently there are no cameras from the municipality. »

« Brackets have been found from the vehicle that caused this, but I know nothing else. There are no brake tracks, so the approaching vehicle has been driven full on my parked car. It must be a very large vehicle, otherwise you cannot commit a flight crime after this impact. »

Mayor Walter Vansteenkiste (LB Wemmel) hopes that the perpetrator will be caught. « But the investigation is in the hands of the Amow police zone and the public prosecutor, » says the mayor. « Not on every corner of the street there are cameras, but also private companies have cameras. We have to wait for the police investigation. »
First ships Erwin Ollivier (LB Wemmel) also hopes that the perpetrator (s) can be caught. « Not everywhere are ANPR cameras, » says Ollivier. « We want to try to dim the speed in our neighborhoods as much as possible with the municipality. But that takes time. We also look at whether route controls are possible. »
