Over 20 thousand prisoners asked to vote for the future president

A number of 20,846 detainees expressed, until Tuesday, in writing, the intention to vote, on Sunday, at the first round of the presidential elections, and 78 persons deprived of freedom in the partial local ones, Agerpres, the National Administration of Penitentiaries (ANP) said on Wednesday.

According to the quoted source, a number of 22,801 persons deprived of liberty have the right to vote at the first round of the presidential elections and 86 to the partial local ones.

Prisoners can express their option to vote until Saturday. At the same time, the persons deprived of liberty who have not previously expressed their intention to vote or have refused this can return to their decision, meaning that they can be addressed with a new written request to exercise this right, a request that will be endorsed by the president of the polling station.

According to the provisions of the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC), the start time of the polling process is 7:00, and the completion of 21:00. At the level of the penitentiary units, an hour of voting has been established, but will be carried out in the time interval established by the bulb, so that the current activities and the respect of the detainees are not affected (daily walking program, awarding visits, etc.).

For a good deployment of voting, the decision no. 10 D of March 4 of the bulb and an address was sent by the general director of the ANP for taking organizational measures: establishing an interinstitutional connection by the directors of the possession and the electoral authority in the district; the arrangement of an appropriate space within the units, for the location of the ballot boxes and booths; submitting the diligences necessary to issue identity documents to persons with voting rights who do not possess or to change those whose validity period is expired; Ensuring the personnel necessary to maintain order and discipline among the detainees and to prevent the production of « negative events » throughout the exercise of the vote by them, it is mentioned in the information transmitted by the ANP.
