A number of 20,846 detainees expressed, until Tuesday, in writing, the intention to vote, on Sunday, at the first round of the presidential elections, and 78 persons deprived of freedom in the partial local ones, Agerpres, the National Administration of Penitentiaries (ANP) said on Wednesday.

According to the quoted source, a number of 22,801 persons deprived of liberty have the right to vote at the first round of the presidential elections and 86 to the partial local ones.

Prisoners can express their option to vote until Saturday. At the same time, the persons deprived of liberty who have not previously expressed their intention to vote or have refused this can return to their decision, meaning that they can be addressed with a new written request to exercise this right, a request that will be endorsed by the president of the polling station.

According to the provisions of the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC), the start time of the polling process is 7:00, and the completion of 21:00. At the level of the penitentiary units, an hour of voting has been established, but will be carried out in the time interval established by the bulb, so that the current activities and the respect of the detainees are not affected (daily walking program, awarding visits, etc.).
