Two months after the fire at the Pulse disco in Kocani, health professionals at the Clinical Hospital in Stip say that although they had no experience in such great tragedies on March 16, they managed to trace over 110 young people who were transported to the clinics in Skopje and then hospitals. Biljana Rogovrska, a responsible sister for intra-hospital infections, at the Clinical Hospital-Stip says that two months ago only one phone call, so it was necessary to mobilize all staff in the Stip hospital.

– We all have mobilized, virtually everyone in the city, and not at work with one call appeared in their jobs. We have been operating closely. I must emphasize that we have not previously had training for natural disasters or such severe accidents. We worked with a view. It was silence, and it was extremely fast and well – Rogovrska said.

She says the traumas of that fateful day will never heal. Rogovrska says that in those moments doctors and medical staff had to deeply suppress their feelings and emotions. Thus showing great dedication and professionalism in the job.

– In the situation itself and at the very moment when the patients were admitted, there were no emotions, in the sense of stress, panicking, frightening. We worked in silence, without a word. We come to our emotions. We worked from 3.30, until the day up to 12 midnight, when the last patient was sent to Skopje-said Rogovrska, a responsible sister for intra-hospital infections, at the Clinical Hospital-Stip.

Injured by the Pulse disco in Kocani are working with phisatrants and physiotherapists from the Department of Physical Therapy, which also help their colleagues at the General Hospital in Kocani.
