This morning thermalblock 2 in REK Bitola is automatically disconnected from the power system, the AD ESM said, and the reason is the work of the block’s protective mechanism, which was activated as a result of increased temperature or burnt wooden elements near the electronic steering wheel.
The Sector for Public Relations of AD ESM emphasizes that given that it is a potential sabotage, immediately after the event, REK Bitola authorities reacted according to the operational protocols.
– The case has been reported to the criminal police, which is currently inspecting the scene in order to establish all circumstances. Upon completion of the police inspection, expert teams from REK Bitola will immediately begin a detailed analysis to perceive the possible damage and determine the exact cause of the temperature – said AD ESM.
In the past period, electricity production in REK Bitola is taking place with reduced capacity. Thermalblock 1 is in a regular annual overhaul, while Thermoblock 3 is disconnected from the network due to current reduced electricity needs by the Universal supplier EVN Home.
The satisfaction of the state’s electricity needs is fully provided through increased production from AD ESM hydro power plants, as well as through Memora’s energy sale.
