Output April Second Decade National Heat Record / Day
The highest air temperature was registered in Daugavpils, where shortly after 4 pm the thermometer bar rose to +25.2 degrees, which is a new heat record for the second decade of April in Latvia.
The previous highest air temperature registered in the country in mid -April was +25.1 degrees on April 17, 1999 in Zvejniekciems and on April 20, 2000 in Riga.
The decade record has also been beaten in Dagda, Jekabpils, Rezekne, Rucava and Skrīveri, while the 24 -hour record was corrected in Liepaja, Madona and Saldus. At these observation stations, the air warms up to +22 .. +24 degrees.
The lowest air temperature at 4 pm was +7.5 degrees in Kolka, as well as +8.8 .. +9.5 degrees in Daugavgriva, Mersrags and Ventspils port.
By six in the evening, the air temperature will rise higher, so new heat records are possible.
It has already been reported that the air in Latvia will heat up to +24 .. +28 degrees on Friday, forecasts by the opticians. It will be the warmest day this month, as well as one of the hottest days of April in the history of Latvia. So far, the highest air temperature registered in the country on April 18 is +23.2 degrees in 1959, while the month record is +27.9 degrees on April 24, 2000.
