Our plans are long -term growth, expansion and innovation
Awareness of the importance of air quality in the premises is gradually improving, but it does not reach the level that would be expected in terms of health impact. Ventilation is still not a mandatory part of all energy rehabilitation and often remains overlooked. Abroad is different, he explained in the conversation, among other things Uroš FonovicCEO of Lunos Slovenia.
In the Slovenian market, Lunos has been present with its ventilation systems for more than 16 years, and after changes in the structure of the parent company representation in Germany, Lunos GmbH, a subsidiary in Slovenia has emerged in which the parent company has an 80 % ownership share. What is the advantage of their principle of development and production in Germany, as they have more than 65 years of experience in the ventilation industry?
Lunos GmbH, based in Berlin, has been setting standards in the ventilation industry for over 65 years, developing and producing all devices exclusively in Germany. This provides exceptional technical finishing, stable quality and long -term reliability – which is extremely important in ventilation systems. In the past, Lunos was present on the Slovenian market at an external distributor, but for strategic reasons and desire for higher quality appearance on the market, the company restructured the presence and established its own company Lunos, in which Lunos GmbH has an 80 % share. This direct presence allows us to fully realize the philosophy of the parent company – while offering even better support and tailored solutions to Slovenian clients.
Especially in Germany, Denmark, Austria and Scandinavia, the quality of the interior air is treated as a fundamental right to stay. There, ventilation systems are legally prescribed in new buildings and also subsidized.
Since last year, you are responsible for the spread of the presence in the Adriatic region, including the erection of local offices. What steps have already been taken?
After the first year of successful operation of Lunos, DOO, in Slovenia we quickly recognized the potential of the wider region. We have established a subsidiary of Lunos Systems, DOO, in Zagreb, which is already active in the Croatian market. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, we cooperate with a local distributor, and at the same time we are in the concluding stages of agreements with partners in Serbia and Hungary. Our goal is to establish local offices and networks that will operate in accordance with Lunosa GmbH standards, while offering quick and professional support for users, designers and installers.
What shows your measurements from the field – what air do we have in homes and offices?
Our field team regularly performs basic air quality measurements in counseling and results often arouse concern. In many rooms, CO₂ concentrations are high, relative humidity is increased, and traces of molds and odors are also common due to poor air flow. These problems are especially pronounced in well -insulated structures without proper ventilation. With Lunos modern decentralized ventilation solutions, we can improve living conditions without major interventions and contribute to the health of users in the long run, both in new buildings and in existing facilities.
Are we aware of the importance of quality air? What about abroad, who could be an example?
Awareness is gradually improving, but it does not reach the level that would be expected in terms of health impact. Ventilation is still not a mandatory part of all energy rehabilitation and often remains overlooked. It is different abroad – especially in Germany, Denmark, Austria and Scandinavia, the quality of the interior air is treated as a fundamental right of being. There, ventilation systems are legally prescribed in new buildings and also subsidized. Such models can also help us set higher standards at home.

Consumers are increasingly aware and therefore more focused on the sustainable aspect of products. How is the sustainable orientation of your business?
Sustainability is the central pillar of Lunos. All our devices are designed for low electricity consumption, long life and easy maintenance. In production, we use recycled materials, engine -free engines and aluminum, which can be reused. The systems are modular and can gradually be upgraded, reducing waste.
In addition to technical aspects of durability, we also invest in local networks and support, reducing the need for long -term supply chains and increasing the energy efficiency of the entire business. We also promote sustainable use in consulting clients, including optimal operation of devices.
How does digitization, as a very topical topic, change your industry?
Digitization is changing the ventilation industry from the basic technical field into an intelligent, database. Lunos is one of the first manufacturers to allow remote control of ventilation devices through mobile applications, monitor air quality in real time and connect with other smart systems.
In addition, we are one of the pioneers in the field of artificial intelligence (UI) in ventilation systems. Using the use of the device, they automatically adjust the operation according to the presence of persons, outside temperature, humidity and other factors – without the user to set anything. In the field of design, we also use artificial intelligence to analyze flow, simulation of space conditions and optimize the entire system already during the planning phase.
What are the plans for the future?
Our plans are based on long -term growth, expansion and innovation. In Slovenia, we continue to strengthen the local presence, expand the professional and assembly network and raise awareness of the importance of quality ventilation. In the region, we will expand the Lunos model to other countries with our own or partner infrastructure.
Our long -term goal, however, goes beyond only expansion. The vision of Lunos is to remain a leading global innovator in the field of decentralized ventilation, which creates a healthy living space with smart, sustainable and human -friendly solutions – for every generation and in every environment. Ventilation is understood as a basic right to quality living and health, not as a luxury.
