On the occasion of 80 years « Osten » and Fool’s Day-April 1, an exhibition of cartoons and humorous-satirical texts of cartoonists and textbooks from the editorial office of « Osten » and long-time associates entitled « One for All For All! » The author of the cover caricature is Darko Markovic, and the author of the title aphorism is Zivko Pavlov.

– If we calculate how many people are laughter, it may be very April 1 – Fool’s Day, to celebrate once a year? On the other hand, why is it such a holiday when we are April 1 every day?! And yet. During this time of global closure, misery, manipulative, alienation, a time of lower heads and raised walls, raised lattices and lowered curtains, a time of fear, hatred and vanities, it would not be bad to stand in front of the mirror and try to see our lips and our smile at least once a year Say: This needs to be repaired, sealed, maybe you need a bridge, even new jaws! That is why humor, satire and cartoon serve. In order to be able to bite hello – said cartoonist Darko Markovic on the occasion of Joke Day.
The activities of the « Osten-Biennale »-Skopje, on the occasion of 80 years of existence, which were greatly successfully performed throughout 2024, had their own finish in the National Gallery of Macedonia-« Cifte-amam », with the opening of the official exhibition and awarding awards and recognitions of artists and collaborators. This event was even more significant given the fact that it is the first in a series of events planned in this jubilee year – 80 years since Osten’s existence. Symbolically, the exhibition was exhibited by 80 award -winning artists and finalists from over 40 countries, most of whom came to Skopje from different parts of the world to receive the awards. Works of the visual arts – art on paper, painting, objects, installations, photographs, video and multimedia art were exhibited.
– The preparation of the Biennale began last year with the release of an international call, which was reported by 273 artists from 51 countries with 863 works. There were a series of solo and group exhibitions of the applicant artists, including the « Wheel of Time » exhibition of the remarkable Italian artist Marko Bacholi in « Cifte-Amam » in collaboration with « Zerintia »-an Association for Contemporary Art from Rome, with the support of the Italian Institute of Culture. It was an appropriate announcement of the decision of the Osten Council for the country in focus last year to be Italy. In May, Skopje was awarded the official Grand Prix for one of the greatest artists of today, Michelangelo Pistole. According to the desire of the pistol to be a motive for the connection and unification of people and institutions in the region, the act of handing out was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade as part of the program for its solo exhibition « Preventive Peace » – says Cornelia Koneska, the executive director of « 


The event was organized in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art of Belgrade, Serbia, « Zerintia » and Mario Peroni.
In June, the official program of the « Osten-Biennale » began with the solo exhibition of the self-taught surrealist and great Macedonian painter Vangel Naumovski. Pictures, drawings and graphics were presented (from the Osten collection). An international jury was formed, which was elected Bruno Cora, Italy (president), a prominent person in the art world, known for his contribution as critic, author and educator since the 1960s, a curator of numerous art biennials and exhibitions, including Alberto Boi, and Alberto The Commission included Pick Keobandit of Belgium, founder and director of the inspirational culture organization – Organization for Art and Cultural Diplomacy, as well as editor -in -chief of Target Global magazine. Along with him in the jury was Maja Kolaric from Serbia, art historian and curator, director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade. Since several days of activities by the international jury, the awards have emerged.
In addition to the awards, Michelangelo Pistole and Vangel Naumovski, in collaboration with the World Association of Visual Arts (Savo), the awards: « Artist of the World » by Kiro Urdin from Macedonia, « Rembrandrent » by the Macedonian artist,  » The international jury awards the first prize for drawing, graphics, combined paper on Patolovakia’s Patolan Paper, first prize for canvas, installation, KS facilities. Srivatchan from India; First Prize for Photography, Video, Multimedia of Filip Joveski from Macedonia. Special jury awards are given to Sungcan Kim from J. Korea, Nikola Markovic from Serbia, Marie Teruci from Germany, and special recognition from Anica Kitanoska’s jury from Italy, Bruno Pavic from Croatia and Todoris Trumpas from Greece.
