Ostapenko, who ranks 24th in the world, won with 6-4, 6-1, winning the first winner of the tournament this season and celebrating success in one of the WTA singles tournaments for the ninth time in his career.

After receiving the winner of the prize, Ostapenko thanked the final opponent and wished her to win in one of the next tournaments.

« It was great – to be on a court with such a great tennis player as you, » Ostapenko said.

Ostapenko earned the 500 world ranking for victory in the tournament, which will allow the world to return to the top 20.
