Ostapenko Loss of World Fifth Racket Paolini Paolini Rome WTA 1000 Series Tournament Eighth Final / Day

Ostapenko, ranked 18th in the WTA, conceded to the fifth racket of the planet with 5-7, 2-6.

The match was started by the housewife and was forced to play two breakballs in the first gen. Ostapenko played one break ball in the fourth inning, but in the fifth used the only break ball, leading the lead for the first time in the match and winning his serve – 4-2.

The next three games were won by Paolini, but the set of the set was divided by the 12th of the pair, in which the Italian won with the second break ball.

The second set with the serve also started Paolini, reaching a second break with 2-0 and increasing the lead to 3-0.

Ostapenko and Paolini have already met the Doha WTA 1000 tournament in the semi-finals this season, winning Rigans with 6-2, 6-2. Ostapenko also beat the Italian in the first round of the 2023 US Open Championship, but has suffered the only loss so far in the first round of the tournament qualifying competition in Australia in 2014.

Ostapenko was free from the first round, with 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 outscored Slovakian Rebecca Shramkov (WTA 41), with a game with German Laura Siegemund (WTA 101) in the third round, but the opponent did not go out.

Paolini was also free in the first round, in the second with 6-4, 6-3 outscored New Zealand tennis player Lulu Sun (WTA 46), and in the third round with 6-4, 6-3-Tunisian Ons Jaber (WTA 36).

In the quarterfinals

Will meet Russian Diana Schneider (WTA 11th), who defeated Belgian Elishi Mertens (WTA 24) with a 6-2, 6-3 Monday.

Sevastova suffered a loss in the first match of the single -player tournament in the Italian capital.
