Osaka’s World Expo opened with an ambition to show what the future would look like
The Expo World Expo 2025 was officially opened in the Gulf of Osaka in the presence of the Japanese emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako.
The event is held on the artificial island of Yumashima (« The Island of Dreams »). The exhibition is surrounded by the « big ring » – two kilometers long and a 20 meter high wooden structure, symbolizing the topics of diversity and unity.
Three years after the World Exhibition in Dubai, the topic of Osaka is the « society of the future », focusing on artificial intelligence and space exploration.
In the next six months, by October 13, more than 160 countries, regions and international organizations will show their ideas on the topic « Designing a future society for our lives ».
The Bulgarian pavilion focuses on the Bulgarian contribution to the global challenges with an emphasis on the sub -toddle of life saving, BTA reports. The Executive Agency for Small and Medium -sized Enterprises describes the Bulgarian exposition as « evolution with nature », which offers a journey through time, showing how our history and traditions form current innovations and future visions. «

The organizers hope to attract 28 million visitors, although only 8.7 million tickets have been sold so far and studies have shown a lower than expected interest among the Japanese public. Osaka hosted the exhibition in 1970, attracting 64 million visitors.
