The Jablanica Civil Protection Headquarters ordered the population evacuation on Monday night for the area of ​​Zlata settlement, hamlet Begici and Sasici, due to the expected significant increase in water levels, writes Avaz.ba. According to the forecasts of meteorologists, there is a significant increase in water levels at most hydrological stations, especially in the flood area of ​​TMT and in the middle and lower stream of the Neretva River with tributaries.

At the extraordinary session of the Civil Protection Staff, the evacuation was concluded that the evacuation became necessary, and it was ordered for the locals to be immediately prone from endangered areas. Rainfall is expected between 30 and 60 liters per square meter, and up to 100 liters on the mountains, with winds of 50 to 70 km/h, which creates a high risk of new floods and landslides.
The evacuation is in charge of the firefighters, the Mountain Rescue Service and the Jablanica Police Station, while the Red Cross should be provided with accommodation and assistance to evacuated persons.

Evacuated will be placed in collective and individual housing objects

During the 3rd and 4th of October last year, a total of 27 people were killed in BiH after a torrential flood and a lard of rock, and the hardest was hit by Jablanica, which killed 19 people.

Numerous family homes and infrastructure are still not completely renovated in this place.

Many residents still live in temporary accommodation, while some roads and municipal systems are still damaged, which further increases risks on the eve of new precipitation.
