Or we reduce our operating expenses or increase taxes and taxes
Interim president Ilie Bolojan said on Monday that Romania has spent many more years than could afford, indicating that solutions in this case reduce operating expenses or increase taxes and taxes.
‘We have spent many more years than we could afford. I took big loans. Think that last year we took about a billion euros weekly loan to ensure some budget balances. (…) And this meant that the interest in these loans will increase year by year and no matter what government will be next year, over two, three years will not be able to run away from this reality. (…) We have two or three possibilities. Or we reduce our operating expenses or increase taxes and taxes, to compensate for the deficits, to say, from the budget, or we do some, and the reduction of expenses is made in a form that I have always supported. Sir, we don’t get people out to be in work. Yes, we calculate the staff correctly and then, I do not know, but at a county council, for four years you can work without problems with under 100 people, « Bolojan told Antena 3 CNN.
He said it must be acted with a certain « feeling of urgency ».
« It will be an effort of one year, a year and a half, maybe two years to correct the budget deficits and create conditions to relaunch our country, » Bolojan added.
The interim president said that priority is the optimization of expenses and combating tax evasion, not the increase of the tax burden, which should be the last solution, applied in extreme situations.
He was asked where the most unjustified spent. Bolojan replied that, in his opinion, it must be intervened in many state companies.
