Inclusive and open. All Latvian golf days have been going on since 2014 and more and more participants are attracted every time. During this time, all nine Latvian golf courses are widely opened by anyone interested in their doors. Last year the event took place for two days and the owners of the pitches chose to get involved in one or both of them. In the end, the capacity was even too small for many visitors. Therefore, this time it will take four days and again each square will host guests for different days. The All -Latvian Golf Days are a very inclusive and open event for everyone, regardless of their previous experience in golf and sports as a whole. Often after trial people realize it’s cool and not expensive and then applying for the green card
Great Introduction to Golf. Each of the squares will be offered a special program on all Latvian golf days, but most often they will be practical classes. Therefore, it is desirable to apply in advance so that interested people can be divided into groups. These classes will feature golf equipment, basic rules, labels, various rolling and stroke exercises, as well as go on the pitch and play a hole, enjoying a great introduction to the golf.
From children to seniors. One of the strategic directions of the Latvian Golf Federation, and at the same time its vision is to create an opportunity and interest in playing golf to the wide range of Latvian residents. The data show that 940 new players joined the golf family last season, but the number of licensed players increased by 38%. The average golfer age in Latvia is 37, but the age range of participants in the National Championships in 2024 was 8 to 85 years. Golf can be played at any age, playing it at the sporty level and simply with the aim of relaxing and improving health. The films come from the myths that golf is an elite and can only be played by millionaires, but it is certainly not. The expenses are no higher than in other sports to start playing golf and buying equipment.
On the way to sports schools. Taking into account the increase in the number of children and young people, we have addressed the Ministry of Education and Science aimed at amendments to the Cabinet of Ministers regulations to include a vocational education program in golf. This provides state support for children’s training, otherwise everything is financially laid on the shoulders of the parents. We have prepared everything we need to allow the State Education Quality Service to coordinate the golf program and may be available in a sports school program in September this year.
