Opening the boxes? KAS gives on Thursday the decision for Kukes
The Complaints and Sanctions Commission held this Wednesday’s next meetings for the Democratic Party complaints reviews regarding the contest of the 11th election scores tables certified by the CEC for all 12 counties.
KAS also completed the review of the appeal no. 37 (Kukes Region) and decision -making will be announced on Thursday, June 5, at 09:50. The DP requires the invalidity and repetition of the elections for this county.
Today (June 4), there were also complaints about Fier and Durres on the agenda. DP representative Franc Nuri claimed in his complaint to Fier, where the Democrats lost 12 to 4 seats to the SP, that there were numerous irregularities, focusing on the use of state-owned machinery and administration, patronageists and ‘electoral asphalt’, voting diversion and especially diaspora vote.
Later the discussion also passed to Durres, where the presence of two of the DP candidates, Aulon Kalaja and Ilirjana Kuçana, who claim the manipulation of the vote within the party in favor of Arjan Ndoja. After discussions with KAS representatives, because by law candidates cannot be represented individually, but with the party, the verification of 39 boxes was required. Previously, also represented by the Legality Party in the complaint, KAS had accepted Aulon Castle’s request, but without expressing its recount. The two candidates were allowed to attend the meeting, claiming there was evidence that their vote has deviated.
Candidate Aulon Castle and his representative expressed their stance on the verification of 39 boxes allegedly diverting his vote within the DP and stating that there was evidence to be considered. KAS member, Ilir Rusmali, demanded that the evidence be brought in concrete, in detail where those voting sheets were, even if they were in more than 39 boxes, but took time for complainants the castle and left until Monday for this gathering of the facts it would submit.
The castle said they had this data and would submit it. Recall that KAS has accepted the castle as a complainant, but without still guaranteeing the recount they seek.
