Open exhibition « understand how the city grows » at the 20th Belgrade international week architecture – culture
In the gallery, the exhibition of the Cultural Center of Belgrade is opened in April. In April, the city grows « , as part of the same name of the Belgrade International Architecture (Bina) and European architectural platform Lina.
Exhibition It is a summary of the three-year project in which international and domestic young architects and artists investigated models of further development of the city.
At the opening, a member of the organizational team of the Bine and Coordinator of the Ružica Sarić project pointed out the importance of cooperation with the Lina platform, announcing the upcoming exhibition of works by the author elected on the annual competition of this network. Her colleague Danica Prodanović explained that the goal of the project was to gather young European creatives through residential programs in the research of Belgrade and the process of its urban growth.
« Lina is an opened platform for young creators, which in different ways, ecology, we understand the development of the city, and the idea was to foster all the results in the final exhibition that is in front of you, » said Prodanovic today.
The exhibition was also attended by Hana Cyrilan, the Lin’s Public Relations Coordinator, which announced a new competition that opens 15. May, as well as continuing the project for the next four years. « Every year, we gather innovative thinkers who consider where we are moving as a continent. We are proud of the number of applications and we look forward to future projects with bin, » Corman said.
One of the designers settings, Loris Luisi Pačilo, emphasized the variety of materials and research approaches gathered for three years of work. « We were impressed with the wealth of urban development strategies and the solutions that young creatives proposed, » he pointed out, describing the setting as divided into the urban growth and special vision of the development of New Belgrade.
The curators of the exhibition are the Film Collective Docar Films (Jasper Mojerer and Rosio Kalsado), while the design of the settings are responsible for Andrea Arches and Loris Luisi Preilo. Among the participants are Alberto Rončeli and Nikol Vetore, Đulio Galaso and Natalija Vorošilova, Isidora Koščica, Janija Mendez, Nevena Delić, Sara Ramezani, Francesca Kokijara, Sergios Striglojanis and Rebeca Bratoz Gornik.
The works presented at the exhibition focus on urban phenomena blocks 61, 62 and 63, as well as Bežanije, trying to discover frequently neglected urban development processes through a micro-perspective. Instead of dealing with macroproducts, the authors focused attention to « gaps » between built-in structures, offering new methodological approaches to understanding the city growth.
On the same day, within the cooperation between the bine and line, a round table was held with the participants of the exhibition and previous residences, with the moderation of Danica Jovović Prodanović and Ružica Sarić.
