Only six municipalities fulfilled their duties

Municipalities need many who do much better to fulfill their obligations in the preparation of rules on support and support services and discrepancies are in the presentation of the rules by municipalities. Of the 64 municipalities, only six were complied with all the rules in this regard.

This is stated in the results of the Initiative Review Quality and Supervisory Authority of the Welfare Authority published today.

According to the Agency's examination, there is a greater need for the Agency to reflect the services provided by municipalities in service categories that fall under support and support services.

The results show that user agreements were in place with only 24 municipalities, only 16 had set rules on leisure services and only six municipalities had in force all the rules covered by the Agency's examination and had updated in accordance with current law. It was Akureyri town, Eyjafjarðarsveit, Grýtubakkahreppur, Hörgársveit, the City of Reykjavik and Svalbarðsstrandarhreppur.

Seven had not set rules

It is worth noting that seven municipalities out of 64 had not set support for support services and that one did not have any of the rules in force. The report does not specify which municipalities are involved. It is worth noting that according to information from the municipality that did not have any of the rules in force that a recent agreement had been repealed with another municipality on the service.

The Quality and Supervisory Authority of the Welfare Authority shows that municipalities are approaching the preparation and presentation of the rules in different ways and it was not always clear that the legal basis of the rules were set. There was some reference to the law that has been repealed, as stated in a notification from the agency.

Deadline for improvements until September 15

The quality and regulatory body of the Welfare Agency emphasizes that rules are accessible and user-friendly, that centralized guidelines for municipalities on the preparation of rules could be improved and that the harmonized presentation of national rules would be a benefit for municipalities, users and regulators.

The Agency's examination examined whether municipalities had defined procedures and a coordinated assessment requirement. All municipalities except four had such a thing, but the assessment is not carried out in a harmonized way nationally.

The municipalities have all received their results from the examination, received recommendations on improvements from the agency where appropriate and given the deadline for improvements until September 15.
