One of the poplars that Eminescu wrote about, collapsed over a fence

The employees of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Iași were asked to intervene, on Wednesday, to manage the effects of a tree declared a monument of nature, this being one of the poplars who were an inspiration for the great national poet Mihai Eminescu.

The Iasi military firefighters were asked to intervene in the municipality of Iași, on Plopii Street without a husband, where a large poplar, declared a monument of nature, collapsed on the public space, affecting a perimeter fence and the electricity network.

‘At the place of the request was moved an intervention vehicle within the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations’ Mihail Sturdza’ of Iași county, classified with five non -commissioned officers, as well as a specialized intervention crew from the Delgaz Grid electricity distribution operator. The intervention was necessary to remove the danger of accident, prevent additional damage and restore safety in the area. Fortunately, no victims were registered, « said Georgică Onofreiasa, ISU spokesman.

The Inspectorate for Emergency Situations reminds the importance of the immediate notification of the authorities in the case of trees in danger or affected by the weather conditions, to prevent situations that can endanger the safety of citizens and goods.
