On Wednesday evening around 5 pm, another hundred people came together where the 11-year-old Fabian died. They put down flowers and drawings and the violin was played. « For example, we want to show the family that we will continue to think about them in the coming period. » A reflection moment will be held in the park on Thursday.

In two days, the number of flowers, drawings and candles only increased on the spot where Fabian left life. Tuesday and also Wednesday there were always a number of people who stopped at the terrible tragedy. On Tuesday evening, around 500 people came together for the Wake for Fabian and also on Wednesday evening there were a hundred people in the Elisabeth Park again. A violinist played music there.

« Even today we have agreed with the local residents to keep a wake, » says local resident Lies van Overschee. « That way we want to show the family that it will not stay at that one moment and that we will continue to think about them in the future. We also wanted to create this moment especially for the children. There was the opportunity to make drawings together and lay them here. »

The immediate family was also invited, but, unlike yesterday, did not come to the Elisabeth Park. « We will always keep them informed when we organize something and of course they are completely free to do what they need at that time. We may still organize such moments in the future, but we will not be out yet. »

Elsewhere in Brussels, a tribute also appeared to Fabian on Wednesday: he was painted on a facade in the city center by a street artist. On Thursday at 1 pm the Fabian family will hold a moment of reflection in the Elisabeth Park, where he died. The family invites any visitors to bring a flower or candle to commemorate him.
