In Klaipeda city, tests will take place in six stages in different smaller areas, in Gargždai – two stages. It is planned that these works will take about one day at each stage.

Pipelines are prepared for the next heating season

Hydraulic tests check the strength of the pipelines by temporarily increasing the pressure. During tests, it is necessary to disconnect the pipeline from the heat network systems, as the heat exchangers at the heating stations of the buildings, which produce hot water, do not apply to increased pressure and may break without disconnection. As a result, hot water supply is temporarily terminated during hydraulic tests. The pipeline inspection is done after the end of the heating season to arrange the defects found before the start of the next heating season.

The new way of checking piping is justified

By 2022, during hydraulic tests, Klaipeda city was divided into two parts: northern and southern. Due to large areas and long pipelines, the scope of the pipeline inspection process usually took about four days.

In order to facilitate these processes, Klaipedos Energija started hydraulic attempts to organize six stages. In this way, at each stage, the work was done within one day.

This solution has proved its worth, so hydraulic tests will be executed in the same order this year. The results show that fewer and fewer complaints are obtained by the temporary termination of hot water supply. In addition, residents positively evaluate the improvement procedure and share favorable views.

Klaipedos Energija will continue to seek to further shorten the time of disconnection of the hot water or in the future to avoid it at all by installing more advanced pipeline inspection techniques.

Pipeline Check – according to scheduled schedule

Klaipedos Energija customers are informed in advance that hot water supply will be terminated for one day, but if the faults were detected, their removal may take another day. During hydraulic tests, the valves come in the house and open the home supervisor, so when the hot water will be disconnected and how quickly it will reach the customer premises depends on the building administrator.

Until consumers are supplied to the heat of hot water, it is recommended to screw the room with a hot water valve so that cold water does not have to pay for hot water.

Consumers who will not be updated to the planned date due to defects found on the heat tracks will not be renewed to the planned date.
